Heavenly Creatures “Picnic at Hanging Rock” Summer 2011

The Heavenly Creatures Summer 2011 range features vintage lace, linen and liberty prints. This season designers Heid Weber and Kelly Duckworth have drawn inspiration from Picnic at Hanging Rock. The range is stunning and my most favourite to date.

Woolbabe Sleeping Bags now available in toddler (size 2-4 years)

Woolbabe sleeping bags are the best way to ensure a good night sleep for your baby (and you!). Using Australian wool in children’s clothing makes a lot of sense. It is luxuriously gentle against a baby’s skin, can breathe (unlike synthetics such as polyester), and due to it’s complex coil fibres can absorb up to 30% of its own weight in moisture without feeling damp. Merino wool reacts to changes in body temperatures, keeping baby at a constant body temperature, warm when cold and releasing heat and moisture when hot. This limits heat rashes in children with sensitive skins.

Woolbabe Sleeping bags are also machine washable and tumble dry which us time poor mums love! Super snuggly the winter weight design is perfect for cooler climates and temperatures below 18-20 degrees.

Harris turns 11

My goodness I don’t know where the years are going. My eldest is about to turn 11 in a couple of weeks and I’m almost certain that when he turns 12 he will be as tall as me. He wanted a new “long” skateboard for his birthday which happened to arrive a couple of weeks early. So lots of fun has been had.

Mary Poppins we love you!

Last Wednesday Millie and I had a girls day out, it was just wonderful. We flew to Melbourne on the early morning flight and spent the morning wandering around the city before we headed to the highlight of our trip - MARY POPPINS - Millie’s first musical - I’m not sure who was more excited Millie or I! From the moment Millie grabbed her red velvet booster cushion and we took our front row seats right behind the conductor, she was captivated. She started waving to the orchestra immediately and continued waving as they waved back. When then show started she said in her loudest whisper “Mummy they are real people” I’m not sure what she thought it was going to be, a movie? Throughout the performance she sang (quite loudly) to all the songs (we have watched the original movie a trillion times at home together so she knows all the words) and she clapped and chuckled away as though she was the only person in the audience. Gosh it was funny. It was such a wonderful performance and we both loved every minute of it. When we got home she watched the movie again and then watched it again the next morning before she asked me when we were going back to see it again - “Oh please Mummy we simply must - it was PRACTICALLY PERFECT”!

Millie in her practically perfect tee!

Millie’s last day at kinder

Oh my goodness…where are the years going…this week Millie finished kindergarten and now we are only a little over a month away from having a little school girl…my little baby is growing up way too fast. It was not going to be an easy day for me I could feel the tears welling up in the back of my eyes before we even got to kinder (my thoughtful friend said to stop being so pathetic, BUT I said she is the last one to go to kinder and there will be no more kinder ever in our house…sob sob, sob) and it didn’t take long for the first tears to escape my lids and I thought goodness by the end of the day I am going to be a blubbering mess. Well I held myself together pretty well and Millie had a wonderful day with all her friends…there was party food, gifts, a graduation ceremony and even a visit from Father Christmas - Millie said “It wasn’t the real Santa was it mum?, I know it wasn’t Chrissy or Mrs Barnes or Sherrie because they were all there, but who could it have been”...

and it was lovely to have big brother Toby come and celebrate too!
